But Lumines Mobile is ace, so I’ve bought it again. (Also: Tower Bloxx.)

Seems to be a lot louder on this new mobile, so I’ve been annoying people in the office with it.

Sexy Poker (MOB) Tue, 25 Jul 2006 12:45:00 +0000 That Rev Chap Well, it’s certainly the latter…

Good fun, too. There’s only a single opponent at a time and the AI is probably pretty random, but it works. Plus, it’s nice to have goals and I guess tiny, single-pixel nipples are as good as anything else.

Not going to change the world, but it’s as slick and well-made as all the other Gameloft games.

Tamagotchi (MOB) Fri, 23 Jun 2006 13:39:00 +0000 That Rev Chap Two days later. It’s still asleep and its stats haven’t changed.

I’m guessing time only counts when the game is running, rather than it looking at the clock to see how much time has passed since the last play session.

Which makes the thing absolutely worthless, then.

But it’s such an odd design decision to have made that I feel I must be missing something… Especially as you can display the time in the game, so it knows what it is.

Tamagotchi (MOB) Wed, 21 Jun 2006 14:27:00 +0000 That Rev Chap Nothing was happening, so I reset my Tamagotchi and started again on the Fast speed setting. It was so quick that I couldn’t keep with it and then it fell asleep.

I think maybe this game needs a middle speed setting.

Tamagotchi (MOB) Wed, 21 Jun 2006 12:07:00 +0000 That Rev Chap The guy still doesn’t need any more feeding or cleaning or treating or healing or, well, anything.

This is very odd.

I just start it up, see my little blob doesn’t need anything and shut it down again.

Not very interactive, really.

Tamagotchi (MOB) Tue, 20 Jun 2006 10:26:00 +0000 That Rev Chap It’s a Tamagotchi… on a mobile. My mobile, in fact.

It being on a mobile means two things:

1) It can’t call out and annoy you, you have to load the game to check how the little guy’s doing.

2) It can look a bit nicer than a low-res LCD display.

Other than that, well, it’s a Tamagotchi. More advanced than the original ones, less advanced that the current ones.

I.Q. (MOB) Thu, 15 Jun 2006 12:05:00 +0000 That Rev Chap Cubes roll down the stage.
I try to dispose of them.
But I fall and die.

2006 Real Football Thu, 15 Jun 2006 07:43:00 +0000 That Rev Chap A worthy attempt at a mobile phone football game, sadly let down by the phone keypad.

GBA version, please.

Lumines Mobile Fri, 26 May 2006 12:23:00 +0000 That Rev Chap It’s Lumines!

On a mobile!

And it only costs €3 from Gameloft.

I’ve just tried a quick go at Arcade mode so far, which challenged me with making a certain number of blocks in the shortest time possible. Seventy, then one hundred, I believe. Got a silver medal both times.

The only skin available was Shinin’, the same first skin as the PSP version. It doesn’t sound quite the same on my mobile, though the attempt to replicate the song is… endearing. (Or a horrific travesty if you’re one of those grumpy people.)

Anyway, it’s basically the same game, more or less. Less in the way of graphical effects and music. Control’s not as good. But there seems to be a ton of stuff to do and unlock.

Anyway, it’s a great game, so to have a handheld version I can carry around with me is great, even if it is cut down…

Hang on…
